Day 29

What a day. It went by in the wink of an eye.

Here is a recap of our day.

The First Graders had their first Spelling test. The top scores were:

100% Megan
100% Anthony
92% Isaiah

The First Graders also had their first Mathematics drill. Here are the top scores:

100% Megan
96% Anthony

All homework has been checked and top homework scores belong to:

162% Sammy (K) *
120% Nora (K) *
101% Nathan (K) *
100% Taniya

*All of these students completed extra work this week in reading, XtraMath, and on MobyMax. Congratulations!

We combined Science and Mathematics this morning and reviewed the weather that we were noting each day of the week.

From the information on our calendar, we created a graph to show how many sunny, partly sunny, cloudy, rainy, and windy days we had.

Students then created their own.

After lunch we began Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll. This is the classic edition that was first published in 1865.

The students had free time, in the classroom, and Dakota, Nathan, and Sammy created this Jackson Pollock-like art piece. This piece is 48" x 24' and now being exhibited in the classroom on the east wall :-)

After recess, we previewed next week's Word Wall Words and finished the day with Horton Hears a Who! by Dr. Seuss.

Have a great weekend!
