Day 102

Today we began to work with verbs. Students were given a verb and they had to act it out with no sounds or words. It was so much fun!

KICK!
SHOWER!
SHAKE!
HOP!
WRITE!
DANCE!
PRAY!
We read My Many Colored Days by Dr. Seuss.

And then we delved into the art museum with the book All in a Day

Then, we complete our Spiral Math.

During our rotations....

Izabella (K) started to read and then she wrote sentences on here own!

And while that was happening; there was Math Works and...

...lots of reading going on!

Friday is Day 103 and the last school day of January.

Day 101

With all the hoopla done for a while, we got straight to work this morning.

We made words! Most of the students are really doing great with this activity, and have adapted to the change in format. This format is definitely more challenging.

Our final word, using all 7 letters was hundred!

We read Purple, Green, and Yellow by Robert Munsch. This is a fun story about colour and how that creativity leads to a problem for Brigid.

Then the students coloured their hands and arms with marker. Don't worry it was only a silhouette of their hand and arm.

And we, of course, completed our Spiral Math for the day.

During our rotations the First Graders did graphing word problems and...

...watched a video on expanded form...

...and then got to shop for new books.

Others read, worked on the computer, or did Word Works.

Thursday is Day 102!

**Day 100**

Well we made it to the 100th day and the students are 100 days smarter!

We began the day with a hunt. Students were hunting for Hersey Kisses marked with numbers 1-100!

We decked ourselves out with 100 Day hats...

...and read 100 Day books. I read The 100th Day of School from the Black Lagoon to the class.

And Anthony read The 100th Day of School.

We watched to a cute counting to 100 video.

And even danced to it.

And we still time to do some work today :-) so we completed our Spiral Math.

Day 101 is next!
