As usual, we began with our calendar, weather, place value, and coin. We also reviewed our Word Wall sentences from Tuesday.

Page 128 of Stuart Little contained lots of cardinal directions in every sentence (or so it seemed). As I read the cardinal direction, without prompting at all, the students repeated the word and pointed in the correction direction. It takes a lot longer to read a book when that happens. LOL

When the students came back from afternoon recess; they had a great treat. Miss Osberg's class put on a play called The King's New Pet and we were the audience.
We even had time to make up new Word Wall Word sentences and...
...to read a delightful book called Leaf by Stephan Michael King.
The story is about a little boy who loves nature and his dog. He hates having his hair cut or even combed and he is happiest of all, when he is outside. One day, a little red bird drops a seed on this messy head of hair and soon with the sun and the rain, the seed begins to grow!
