We began the day discovering the features of Foot Island.
Foot Island is a fictitious island located in the Straight of Leg. Foot Island is actually 6 islands; the large island and 5 smaller islands to the north.
We talked about the map key and the symbols we could use for different natural and man-made features of the island.
Next, the students became apprentice cartographers and created their own maps.
After our morning rotations, we had time for a Brain Break before getting ready for lunch.

After recess, the students created Word Wall Word sentences.
And we concluded our day with a little know book by Dr. Seuss; Gerald McBoing Boing.
