About the Teacher

"Hey, I get it!" the child exclaims with a look of amazement.

I relish these moments; the look of excitement lighting up a child's face, that instant of understanding signaling the passage of knowledge, and the joy accomplishment.

Teaching has been my profession for 18 years. I have taught kindergarten, first, fourth, and fifth grades.

I attended the University of Texas. During my early college years, I lived in Rome, Italy where I continued my study of Renaissance Art. Upon my return to the United States, I completed my studies and earned a Bachelor's of Fine Art Degree with majors in Graphic Design and Art History.

At the age of 40, I began my full-time graduate school studies in Curriculum Development while maintaining my full-time position as a K-1 teacher.  After 2 years of study, I conducted extensive research, developed lesson plans, organized an Art Exhibition, and wrote my thesis entitled Improving Parents' Perception of Fine Arts Education Instruction in Inclusive Setting at the Kindergarten Level, to earn a Masters' Degree in Education.

Due to a cancer diagnosis;  I will not be returning to Camelot School for the 2015-2016 school year.
