It was time to review Word Wall Words and sentences during our morning gathering.
Then we were off to our rotations. We had students doing many different things.
They were reading,...
...shopping for books,...
...reading to the teacher,...
...and working on beginning and ending sounds.
Before lunch, we read a fun book called Jeb Scarecrow's Pumpkin Patch.
After recess the students made CVC words with the -an and -ag ending.
And lastly, we read
The Little Scarecrow Boy. The little scarecrow boy wanted to work in the fields with his dad, but his dad said that he had to practice the 6 fierce faces that were used to chase the crows away from the corn. The little scarecrow practiced and practiced to prove to his dad that he could chase away crows as well as any other scarecrow.
The class practiced fierce faces too :-)
