Then we continued our discussion of High Line Park, from yesterday, and watched a short video about it.
Continuing our plant theme, we read Weslandia by Paul Fleishman.
Wesley is different than anyone in his town and he gets tormented for being different. While on summer break from school, Wesley decided to create his own civilization, language, way of dressing, and growing his own food.
He tills some land in the backyard and overnight a westerly wind brings in seeds and soon he has flowers growing.

We had 4 rotations today.
This afternoon, Megan, Liliana, and Anthony recited our Apple Tree poem from Day 55.
Lastly, we watched a Weslandia video that was created by a class of 8th graders in Ontario. You really have to appreciate the effort they put into this clay animation.
Friday is almost here and that is Day 59!
