We began Making Words!
Making Words is an activity where students change sounds in words to make a new word (i.e.
in to
pin to
fin to
bin). The students change the letters and write the new word on their record sheet. In the beginning, we stay with rhyming words to grasp the basics but as the year moves along the words get more complicate phonetically and the words get longer.
This week we concentrated on the -in word family. We started with
in and when to
skin.
