Valentine's Day Dance

This afternoon, we had our annual dance and announced our king and queen and their court.

We continued our use of squares and fractions of squares. Today, we made a pretty heart with 12 whole squares, 18 half squares, and 9 quarter squares.

For the last few weeks, we have been working on fractions. Usually, I give the students step-by-step instructions on completing the letters, but today I just gave them a list of the fractions they needed and they cut them out all by themselves.
