We completed our tree this morning using the colourful snowflakes that the students made. It is a beautiful tree.

Penguins and Their Environ
Each student made a book about penguins and where they live. After making the books we read them together and learned some fun penguin facts.
-at Family
Students practiced the -at family of words today. We changed the beginning sound as we explored spelling patterns to create rhyming words. We even made silly sentences that made us laugh.
Book It! Super Readers!
Sammy (not pictures), Lyla, Gary, and Desiree earned a free, Pizza Hut certificate for completing their November Reading Log as a part of their homework. The Book It! program is a great reading incentive.

An Afternoon at the Theatre
Ms. Osberg and I attended Jade's performance at the Venue Theatre on Saturday afternoon. He played Schroeder in A Handful of Peanuts.

Happy Box Time!
It feels as if we haven't used the Happy Box in weeks! Today, was a wonderful day because Gary made his first pick out of the Happy Box! Yes, his first. Gary made great progress this week!

Time for Kids - Edel Rodriguez
We began a new unit about penguins and serendipitously an issue of Time for Kids this month was about Edel Rodriguez the creator/illustrator of Sergio the soccer loving penguin.
After reading about Edel and Sergio, students had the opportunity to draw their own penguins.

Number Neighbors
Students continued their Number Neighbor grids today. To make it more fun the students came to the white board and wrote the correct number in the box, in addition to writing the number on their paper grids.
