A Great Man is Honoured

"...let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York. Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania! Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado! Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California! But not only that; let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia! Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee! Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi. From every mountainside, let freedom ring."

Smoothie Friday!

This afternoon, we made fresh banana smoothies. These smoothies are creamy, light, with just a touch of natural sweetness.

Mathematics and smoothies go together as we talked about measurement, cups, and ounces. In addition we discussed the safety rules when using a hand-blender.

The recipe is easy and delicious.

1 cup - Silk Pure Coconut Milk
6 ounces - Chobani 0% Vanilla Greek Yogurt
1 - large banana

Monthly Poem

January

January
Now is here --
A fine new start
For a whole new year.
The snow comes down
In the dark of night.
When we awake
The world is white.
In January
When there's snow,
We get our sleds
And away we go.

Welcome Back!

And welcome to 2012!

We have a short week but the week will be packed with a small review today and a project or two through the week.

January homework will be put in the students' folders today.
